For this niche player in the insurance arena located near La Habra, CA, youll be part of a team of Oracle DBA's supporting production and new development projects. This is a Full Time position. As a Jr. Oracle DBA you will be responsible for production systems, maintaining and tuning Oracle 11g/10g environment doing the following tasks;
Change Management: Implement DB and Oracle deployments and configuration changes.
Monitor and track CDC tool performance and job completion, escalate issues as necessary
Implement simple CDC configuration changes, perform Database refreshes
Complete simple database ticket/issues (troubleshooting)
Assist in testing and debugging of implemented database batches and CRON jobs.
Tracks, monitors and generates reports of scheduled critical batch and CRON jobs. Escalates issues as necessary to senior staff.
Participate as a member of database projects. Provide research information during root cause analysis processes.
Assists in capacity planning
Assist in testing and debugging of implemented database and Oracle software
Perform database and Oracle software patching, upgrades and maintenance
Monitor and resolve backups.
SKILLS NEEDED:
Minimum of 2 years experience as an Oracle DBA (11g and/or 10g)
Have knowledge of CRON software
Understand concepts of CDC (use of GoldenGate or InfoSphere is a +)
Knowledge of Standby Replication technologies such RMAN or DataGuard.
Strong UNIX OS background
Ability to be lead on smaller projects +++
Prefer Oracle DB Certifications
Must thoroughly understand incident and problem management in production and development environments.
PL/SQL and Scripting knowledgeEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
